“Reading changes your life. Reading unlocks worlds unknown or forgotten, taking travelers around the world and through time. Reading helps you escape the confines of school and pursue your own education. Through characters – the saints and the sinners, real or imagined – reading shows you how to be a better human being.”
- Donalyn Miller, The Book Whisperer: Awakening the Inner Reader in Every Child
Dear PJS Families and Friends,
Please join us at the Princeton Junior School Barnes and Noble Fundraiser on Saturday, May 7th at the Princeton Marketfair store. Activities have been scheduled from 10am to 5pm. Please be sure to identify yourself as a PJS book fair supporter at checkout, and a portion of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated to Princeton Junior School! This includes almost EVERYTHING in store (books, toys & games, music & DVDs/BluRay, cafe items, and NOOK). If you are unable to attend and would like to make purchases to benefit PJS, our school voucher number, 11844289, may be used online at www.bn.com through May 12th.
Through this event, we hope to generate excitement and support our children as they plan for a summer of reading. This is also an opportunity to share PJS with the local community and highlight our unique programs that include a Reggio-inspired Early Childhood Program, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, and our new Reimagine Summer Program featuring Global STEAM.
In anticipation of our fundraising event, Ame Dyckman’s picture books are currently on display outside of the library along with pre-order forms for those who would like to purchase books for the author to sign during her visit to Barnes and Noble on May 7th at 1:30pm. This is a fabulous opportunity for our students to meet a local author and ask questions about her inspiration, creative process and advice for readers and writers.
