INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAM (IB PYP)

Princeton Junior School has been an authorized IB World School since August 2015.  It was the first independent school in New Jersey authorized to offer the prestigious IB Primary Years Program (PYP).   Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering four highly respected programs of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a complex world.  Around the globe, there are currently more than 1,400 PYP schools located in over 100 countries.

The IB PYP is a leading curriculum framework for international education, designed specifically for schools with students aged 3-12.  Known for its rigorous research and inquiry based curriculum, the PYP focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within the classroom and in the outside world.  The PYP aims to synthesize the best research and practice from a range of national systems with the rich knowledge and experience in international schools to create a transdisciplinary curriculum which is relevant, challenging and engaging.

Ultimately, the IB PYP strives to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
