Sun Screen and Bug Repellent:
This is the season when the sun and little critters can pose safety concerns.  If you wish your child to use a sunscreen and bug repellent, we ask that you apply an eight hour/long acting sunscreen and bug repellent before leaving home.  We request this as a safety measure so children who have issues and/or sensitivities are protected. Should there be a medical need for additional applications, with a doctor’s note, a teacher will re-apply the product for the ECP children and help a child to re-apply it in Kindergarten - Grade 5.  If re-application is necessary, please give the product, with the note in a plastic bag, to the child’s teacher. Please remember that you may want to provide your child with the following:

  • A wide-brimmed hat that will protect the face, neck and ears

  • Ultraviolet Protective Factor (UPF) protective clothing such as lightweight long-sleeve shirts

  • Unbreakable sunglasses that offer 100% UVA and UVB protection
